PSA Grading now Grading Funko Pops

Aug 16

Over the last few years, collectibles have become big business. Funko Pops are one of the most popular collectibles on the market today. Recently, they've taken a further step with the business's biggest authenticating and grading service, PSA, now grading and authenticating Funko Pops.

Now, you'll be able to:

  • Authenticate Funko Pop signatures and unsigned boxes
  • Grade the condition of the box (you won't be able to grade the Pop itself)

Funko Pops are a toy, but they're also so much more than that. They sit in that space between toy and collectible. They're cute, they're funny, they're cool – and they're also really affordable. That's probably one of the main reasons they're so popular: anyone can start collecting them, regardless of their budget.

But it's not just about the price. Funko Pops have a huge range of characters to choose from, including all your favorite movie, TV, and video game characters. And even if you're not a big fan of any of those things, there are still plenty of other Pop figures to choose from, like musicians, athletes, and so on.

Another big factor in their popularity is that they're just really well-made. The attention to detail is amazing, and they look great on display. Plus, they're a lot tougher than they look, so you don't have to worry about breaking them too much - and you can be a bit more liberal with how you display your Funko Pops.

It’s not known if PSA will eventually open grading up to the actual figure itself. Slough, even by opening grading to boxes, that’ll still create some more separation in the PSA vs Beckett debate among collectors.
